A UK Assay Office hallmark is a mark of assurance: not an indication of where a piece was designed or manufactured.

When applied, it certifies that the precious metal content of the item, in all its component parts, meets the standard of fineness stated within the hallmark. This independent verification is carried out by an official UK Assay Office.

Hallmarks applied within the United Kingdom are clearly distinguished from those applied by UK Assay Offices at their approved locations outside the UK, ensuring full transparency and regulatory clarity.
